Trips and Events

Throughout the year we run a number of trips from the club for our members and their guests. These trips have varied each year but we usually have a racing trip, a shopping trip (near Christmas), a theatre trip, trips to the dog racing and our annual trip to Whitby. All trips need to be paid for, but the club runs them at cost only so the price is always cheap. We use local reliable coach firms with air conditioned coaches with on board facilities.

A number of events happen in our 120 seat, air-conditioned concert room.  These include our themed tribute acts, card nights, comedy nights, Wednesday quiz nights, virtual race nights, shopping fayres, three course meals and gentleman’s evenings. The cost for these events vary and it is always worthwhile looking at the notice in the entrance hall to see the relevant posters which will display price information.

We also host a number of charity events throughout the year, once again in our large concert room.  These events tend to be free for entry and money is raised from raffles and draws.  We also  hold a special afternoon/evening for our Senior Members with food and entertainment (requirements are having membership for 2 years and being 65 and over). We host a Macmillan Coffee Morning each year where money is raised from cake and coffee sales,  we have an annual race night raising money for the Rotary Club and their designated charities and we host other charity evenings such as an evening quiz. Finally we host a number of events for children of our members such as our annual pantomime, Halloween fun day and August family fun day entry to which are usually free.
